Generative AI Meets Family Crafting: Sticker-Making

I usually think about generative AI's impact on business applications and code writing, but its potential for creative and personal projects is just as amazing. This week I decided to merge my technical know-how with a bit of family fun: crafting custom stickers with the kids, powered by generative AI.

With a simple set of tools, printable vinyl, a die cutter, and the generative capabilities of ChatGPT with DALL-E 3, we set out on a project to turn fun silly ideas into personalized stickers. No off-the-shelf sticker packs, just pure imagination and a bit of AI assistance.

ChatGPT with DALL-E played the role of our personal sticker designer, transforming our requests into images. The result? My eldest daughter designed a series of imaginary planets, while my youngest created some really fun forest scenes.

There's something special about being able to take a technology that I use at work, or at least tangentially, and introduce it to my kids in a way they think is cool.
